What's happened to manners these days??!!!
I had to drop something into my daughter's primary school today when the classes were going to assembly ... as I was waiting to go down the corridor, not one of the little (and not so little) blighters stopped to let me go through the door!
Now I wouldn't have minded sooo much if the school didn't make such a "thing" about their special "values of the week/month" ... friendship, kindness, thoughtfulness, respect etc etc! Not convinced the message is g…

Whatever "it" is, he has it! Rachel was good until her post-performance with Dermot when she was just too uber-excited and I have to agree with Cheryl Cole ... the twins are fast becoming a guilty pleasure!
And I've still got my favourite Michael Buble to watch tonight too ... who said you need to have boom-boom-ra-ra weekends to have a good time!

I answered a phone call this morning from my eldest daughter and was greeted by the sharp shriek of "where are you?" which rather rattled me I have to confess. She quickly reassured my "oh my goodness, what's happened" reaction by following up with "there's a spider downstairs ... can you come and rescue me?!"…

Oh, the relief! They might be healthy, and we have to be very grateful for that, but dyslexia is such a so-and-so problem to have ... it gnaws away at self-confidence, it means academic study is a constant grind and it's misunderstood which can make getting the appropriate support a total nightmare!
BUT good n…

ok, someone please tell me where you shop for clothes for an eight year old girl that don't make her look like a mini-adult? It's driving me mad! I've already bought up 2 daughters but over the last 10 years ... my how things have changed! I'm fed up of going into shops and just tutting and huffing over their children's ranges!

Having just watched a discussion on The Wright Stuff this morning but what's wrong with growing old gracefully, I have realised the answer!
Instead of knocking years off your age and attempting to always look younger than you are, all you have to do is ADD years to your age and then you will always look perpetually young! Oh, I can hear the endless compliments now ... "my goodness you can't be 52, you look amaaaaazing!"
A flawless plan me thinks!

Laura and I have spent the morning fighting over Hugh Jackman! What a gorgeous man, what a performance at the Oscars ... good looking, funny, great voice, great dancer ... shall I go on?!
Yes I know I'm going to be 46 next week and Laura is hitting the big 40 later this year but we've decided that although a poster above our bed would be a tad too far (not to mention mortifying for the children!) but there should always be a space in your life for a little daydream now and again!
So as we are…

Christmas Eve for us was spent with our youngest child being admitted to hospital with a mystery virus and the possibility of septic arthritis which was all a little scary.
Thankfully, she was discharged at lunchtime on Christmas Day ... still unwell but the test results had come back negative and so it was a case of a watchful eye and bucketloads of nurofen until a check up in a few days time.
Although our initial plans for Christmas were kaiboshed, we ended up having a lovely Christmas meal…
